Awesome Day #20: A new dawn, a new life, a new day...& he's feelin good...

This morning my sister Angelique invited her friend Andrew to church. It was his first time attending. He said he was curious of the passion of God he sees through her everyday. At the end of the message this morning Travis our Student Ministries pastor challenged everyone in the sanctuary that  if they did not have a relationship with Jesus, now was the time to do so...because today might be the last chance. Now when you bring a friend to church in your heart you are always hoping and praying that they will lift their hand and want to follow God and know his love and grace like you do....but you also always know there is a possibility that they wont...due to not being ready to commit or afraid that people around them would judge them for their past. Each week at Transit and Devo Travis ends his message with giving people a chance to accept God into their lives by counting up to three and then looking out into the crowd for those who raise their hands...& this morning during service he did that as well. and as he got to the number three my heart began to pound and I looked to the left of me...and there goes Andrew's hand lifting in the air. I began to get goosebumps and my eyes began to water because I was so happy that the message was powerful enough to change his life forever.That God spoke to him in a single moment and told him it was time to give it all to him, and to let him work in his life. Sixteen...and in one second he was saved and given eternal life with Jesus. How amazing is that??! I couldn't help but cry in happiness. Each Sunday I am more amazed at how awesome God is and how awesome he works in people. Angelique didn't have to invite Andrew to come to church this morning but she did....Andrew didn't have to raise his hand and ask God into his life...but he did....Jesus didn't have to die for our sins and save us...but he loved us so much that he did.Today someone's life changed forever and is now walking closer to Jesus! I would say today was a pretty Awesome Day!!!
